The SSC MTS has released notification of Multi Tasking Staff on April 22, 2019. Candidates who want to apply for this exam must pass 10th class and age between 18 to 25 on Aug 1, 2019. It is conducted by SSC for various jobs in government departments and offices. All the candidates who are interested can form application form from April 22, 2019. To crack any exam, first, we should know the basic dates and details of exam. It will help aspirants in making a proper time table and planning to increase performance in the exam. Here we mention important dates and details of SSC MTS exam in the following points.

  • Conducting body – Service Staff Selection (SSC)

  • Medium of exam – Hindi/English

  • No of vacancies – 10,000 (expected)

  • Approx registration – 7000000

  • Notification release date – 22 April 2019

  • Last date to apply online – 29 May 2019

  • Last date to pay online application form fees – May 29, 2019

  • Hall ticket release date – 3 weeks before the exam

  • SSC MTS paper 1 date – August 2 to September 6, 2019

  • SSC MTS paper 1 result – in the last week of September

  • SSC MTS paper 2 date – 17 November 2019

  • Final result – in the month of December 2019

Syllabus of SSC MTS 2019

In this section, we described full details regarding the SSC MTS syllabus 2019. This exam will be held in two tiers. Tier 1 is objective type and tier 2 is a descriptive paper. Candidates are advised to go through below points to know the syllabus of the exam.

Tier 1

General intelligence and reasoning - Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgement, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Arithmetical Computation, Analytical Functions, etc.Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgement, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Arithmetical Computation, Analytical Functions.


Quantitative aptitude - Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Use Of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time And Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work.


English language - Reading, Comprehension, Fill in the Blanks, Spellings, Phrases and Idioms, Synonyms and Antonyms, One-word Substitution, Sentence Correction, Error Spotting.


General awareness - Static GK, Science, Books and Authors, Current Affairs, Dates, Portfolios.

Tier 2

Short Essay/Letter in English or any Language including 8th Schedule of the Constitution.


Exam pattern

In the question paper, there are 4 sections. Each section has 25 questions and for every correct answer, students will be awarded 1 mark. Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Paper II is of qualifying type and will only test candidates’ elementary skills. It will consist of 50 marks. Only those candidates who qualified the paper I will be eligible to write Paper II.

Tier 1

• No of questions – 100

• Total marks – 100

• No of section – 4

• Total time for general candidates – 90 minutes

• Duration for physically handicapped students – 120 minutes

Tier 2

Short Essay/Letter in English or any language included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of 50 marks which should be written in 30 minutes for general candidates and 40 minutes for physically handicapped students.


Preparation tips for the exam

Aspirants are advised to save time from Reasoning, English & General Awareness as we all know numerical aptitude takes more time to solve the problems. Numerical Aptitude section Will be of 25 Marks/ Questions. Don’t spend too much time on one question. Solve questions according to their merit list. Questions on the English Language will be simple, of a level that an average student can solve them easily. The most scoring portion of SSC MTS is General Intelligence & Reasoning. So candidates need to focus more on this part to crack this exam easily.
